Avocado is a fruit, but it tastes more like a vegetable, so it is actively used for salads, salad dressings, sandwiches and spreads.
It is an ideal substitute for any oil, because it consists of monounsaturated fatty acids. The taste of avocado is somewhat reminiscent of a mixture of greens and butter, with a slight nutty flavor.
Often housewives think about whether it is necessary to clean it and how to do it. The avocado must be peeled and the large pit removed. The yield of avocados, of course, is small after that, but what can you do. After you've peeled and cut the avocado, be sure to drizzle it with lemon juice to prevent the flesh from turning brown.
Recipes with avocado
Step 1
For work, we need an avocado, a knife, a cutting board.
Step 2
With a sharp knife, cut through the fruit from top to bottom to the very bone.
Step 3
Similarly, at an angle of 90 degrees to the first cut, make the second. We cut off a quarter of an avocado.
Step 4
Make 2 more similar cuts. On the last quarter of the avocado, we will have a bone, which will be very easy to remove with a knife, prying it from below.
Step 5
Then you can use a sharp knife to make an incision in the peel from top to bottom on one quarter, pry off the peel with a knife or fingers and carefully remove it. This is done if you need to cut the avocado into strips or slices.
Step 6
You can also use a sharp knife to cut the pulp into cubes of the required size directly in the peel.
Step 7
Then, using a regular teaspoon or tablespoon, scoop out the pulp, placing the spoon between the pulp and the peel.
Step 8
The avocado is ready to go.
