Nettle can be used in the preparation of first and second courses, sauces, casseroles, bread and bakery products. In addition to the fact that when nettle is added, the dish becomes bright, spectacular, beautiful, it also becomes very useful. After all, nettle contains a large amount of chlorophyll, vitamin C, K.
Young nettles can be salted in the spring and used later for cooking many dishes. This is very convenient, since a jar with such a blank is constantly at hand - in the refrigerator. You can collect from such a jar each time as much nettle as you need to cook the dish. And the rest of the nettle will wait without problems until the next time.
Recipes with fresh nettle ingredient
Step 1
For work, we need fresh nettles, a saucepan, salt, a metal sieve or a colander, a jar with a lid, water.
Step 2
Sort nettles, remove debris. Strip the leaves by removing the stems. Rinse well under running water. Attention - work only with gloves!
Step 3
Bring the water to a boil and lower the nettle leaves into the water. Boil for 3 minutes.
Step 4
Drain the water, and squeeze the nettle from the liquid.
Step 5
At this stage, if desired, nettles can be cut, and uncut nettles can also be salted.
Step 6
Put prepared nettles tightly in a jar, pouring it with salt and tamping.
Step 7
Close the lid and send to the refrigerator. Use as needed. In the refrigerator, such nettles can be stored for several months.
