How to break a coconut at home

We often buy coconut flakes and use it in cooking various dishes. Sometimes we look for coconut milk in the store to prepare some kind of dish. But it turns out that both coconut flakes and coconut milk can be easily prepared at home.

To do this, you just need to buy a coconut in the store. When choosing a coconut, shake it lightly near your ear. You should clearly hear the splash of liquid inside.

And so you brought the coconut home. The question arises - how to split it? It turns out to be quite simple to do, if you take into account some of the nuances.

How to split a coconut step by step instructions with a photo

Step 1

For work, we need a coconut, a hammer, a glass, a nail.

Step 2

On one side of the coconut are three "eyes". Try to lightly press with a nail on each of the "eyes". Two will be closed tightly, and one "eye" will easily pierce. The nail must be twisted well to form a hole in the pulp of the coconut. Instead of a nail, you can use a screwdriver or scissors.

Step 3

Drain the coconut juice into a glass. The juice will have a slightly salty-sweet taste. It will be a little and you can immediately drink it.

Step 4

Take the coconut in your left hand, and the hammer in your right, and start tapping the shell in a circular direction. You need to tap from the side of the "eyes", measuring approximately 1/3 from the top of the coconut. Tapping should be of medium strength. After some time of tapping (2-3 minutes) a crack will appear.

Step 5

Divide the coconut at the split point into two halves.
