Very annoying, don't you agree? To avoid this, it is enough to peel the tomatoes. But removing the skin is not so easy. We have collected for you 4 different and convenient ways to peel a tomato before cooking.

1. Boiling water

 

This is the easiest way to remove the skin and does not require any special skills. The sequence of actions is as follows:

Remove the stalk from the tomato and make a criss-cross cut on the back side. Scald with boiling water or dip in boiling water for a few seconds. Cool in ice water. Gently grasp the edges of the skin that has come off the pulp and remove.

This method is perfect for those cases when you need to peel a lot of tomatoes at once.

2. Microwave

If you have a microwave on hand, you can do without boiling water. True, here you should do a little differently:

Remove the stalk and with a sharp knife make cuts from it to the opposite side. Depending on the size of the tomato, make 4 to 6 cuts, being careful not to snag the flesh. Put the tomatoes on a plate and microwave for 30 seconds, setting the power to about 600 watts. After the end of the program, cool a little and remove the skin.

 

3. Gas burner

Most often, sweet peppers are baked on gas to peel them, but this method is also suitable for a tomato. Just bring the tomato to an open fire, burner or burner, for example, and singe the skin. Cool and clean gently.

Use this option if you only need to clear 1 or 2 things.

4. Knife

 

The most time-consuming, but not requiring additional devices, method.

Wash and dry the tomatoes, cut into quarters. Gently place the knife on the junction of the pulp and the skin and cut it off with a knife. Take care of your hands!

This method is suitable for those cases when, in addition to the skin, you also need to peel the tomato from the seeds.

An alternative is a vegetable peeler. But it is convenient to work with it only with dense and not overripe tomatoes.

Macaroni with cheese and tomatoes

 

This is a great lunch or dinner idea for the whole family for every day.

Ingredients:

Pasta - 250 g; Cheese - 100 g; Tomatoes - 2 pcs.; Salt, spices, herbs to taste.

Boil pasta in salted water until tender. Remove the skin from the tomatoes in a convenient way, and cut the flesh into small cubes. Combine the finished pasta with tomatoes, grated cheese and mix. Add herbs and spices to taste. 

Thick tomato soup with feta

 

This simple recipe perfectly diversifies the usual first courses.

You will need:

Tomatoes - 700-800 g (in winter you can use canned in your own juice); Bulb - 1 pc.; Garlic - 1-3 cloves; Vegetable oil - 50 ml; Sugar - 1 tsp; Feta - 100-120 g; Salt and spices to taste.

 

First of all, you need to peel the onion, cut it into small cubes and send it to a deep frying pan with vegetable oil. Fry the onion until transparent. Meanwhile, peel the tomatoes and chop. Put in the pan and simmer for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt, your favorite spices to taste, a little sugar to shade the sourness. Pour in about a glass of boiling water and simmer for a few more minutes. Remove from heat and use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth. Top with feta cheese before serving.
