In measles, it is very important to pay attention to nutrition. It is necessary to adhere to a fruit and vegetable diet.

Measles is an acute infectious viral disease that occurs with high fever, affects the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract and oral cavity, leads to conjunctivitis, a specific rash, there is a general intoxication of the body.

In the presence of such a health problem, it is very important to pay attention to nutrition. It is necessary to adhere to a fruit and vegetable diet.

During the first days of the disease, when the temperature is maintained, the body should not be burdened with heavy food. You can consume dishes from dairy and sour milk products. If the patient has no appetite, drink plenty of fluids (freshly squeezed juices, blueberry drinks, compotes).

Gradually, with the stabilization of body temperature, the menu of the patient includes milk porridges, vegetarian soups, and then move on to the usual porridges, stews, fruits, vegetables and salads (purees) from them. Do not neglect green spices and leafy vegetables: parsley, lettuce, spinach, dill.

As the condition improves (best when the rash starts to disappear), fish and lean meats can be added to be steamed, boiled or stewed.

After the complete disappearance of the rash and any symptoms of the disease, as well as the restoration of skin pigmentation, you can now return to your usual diet. Of course, try to keep your menu healthy, containing all the vitamins and minerals the body needs.

Harmful and dangerous food products for measles:

  • solid, greasy and fried food;
  • spices - horseradish, mustard, pepper (especially red);
  • "inanimate" food.

These products irritate the intestinal mucosa, impede the work of the gastrointestinal tract and so the body expends energy to absorb and process these foods, instead of using its energy to fight the disease.
