Colic is a sharp cutting pain resembling a knife stab.

Types of colic

- Lead colic - in lead poisoning. The pain can be felt in any part of the body.
- Baby colic is another type of colic that is thought to be due to an underdeveloped gastrointestinal tract in newborns. They are observed in the first few months after the birth of the baby.
Useful foods for colic
In all types of colic, except for infants, the sufferer should adhere to a diet that reduces the likelihood of recurrence and helps to deal with the problem. Therefore, it is necessary for the diet to be oriented towards the following products and dishes:
- vegetarian and milk cream soups;
- well-cooked cereals: buckwheat, rice, semolina, noodles, wheat, oats (can be prepared with fresh milk);
- fresh, cooked or steamed vegetables, chicken, beef, steamed fish meatballs, homemade liver pate;
- eggs - it is best to boil softly or to be consumed in the form of a steamed omelet;
- non-acidic dairy products;
- homemade compotes, pickles, juices, marmalades, mousses (should not be sour);
- fruits and berries (fresh or baked);
- bread - better not to be fresh, to be with bran; you can eat dry biscuits, pies and rolls (but not from butter dough) with different fillings (from apples, cottage cheese, jam), but not more often than 2 times a week.

- pickled vegetables, fruits and berries;
- cabbage, turnips, radishes, pickled tomatoes;
- mushrooms, mushroom broths, sauces;
- sorrel, lettuce, spinach, rhubarb;
- carbonated drinks;
- fatty, saturated broths and meat dishes of duck, pork, lamb, also fatty fish.
