Every person sometimes has problems with the intestines. What are intestinal diseases? What are the main recommendations in the treatment of intestinal diseases?

The intestine performs one of the main functions in the digestion process. Intestinal diseases occur due to transmission of dysentery, infection with the simplest microorganisms (giardia, amoeba, trichomonads), intoxication (mercury, arsenic), violations of the regime and quality of nutrition, following substandard diets, injuries. The inflammatory process occurs either in the small intestine (enteritis) or in the large intestine (colitis), or the entire gastrointestinal tract is inflamed (enterocolitis).

Intestinal diseases are divided into acute and chronic. It is necessary to treat intestinal diseases in a timely and correct manner in order to avoid the transition of the disease into a chronic form.

The main role in the treatment of intestinal diseases belongs to the correct diet therapy. The diet depends on the nature of the disease, the condition of the motor function of the intestine, the presence or absence of food intolerance, the patient's age, gender, and concomitant diseases.
