Nutrition For Rhinitis

Nutrition for rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa and cavity) - suitable and inappropriate products.

Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal mucosa and cavity. Pathogens are microbes and viruses such as streptococci, staphylococci.

Useful foods for rhinitis

In the presence of such a health problem, it is necessary to consume products that help the body clear mucus and accumulated secretions.

Foods that help clear secretions:

  • garlic;
  • onions;
  • horseradish;
  • mustard;
  • radishes;
  • ginger;
  • fresh fruit;
  • carrot juice, teas with honey and lemon, mint, echinacea, sage;
  • fruits and berries that contain vitamin C (kiwi, rosehip, sea buckthorn, citrus, pomegranate).

Recommendations

  • Meals should be separate - 5 times a day, small portions.
  • Drink at least 2 - 2.5 liters of water daily. It helps cleanse the body of toxins, moisturizes the mucous membranes, which in turn helps wash away germs from them.
  • Take very liquid and soft foods (soups, broths, pickles, porridges). It is assimilated and processed faster, which does not take away from the body's strength needed to fight the disease.
  • Do not overeat.
  • Do not eat too cold or too hot food, also hot drinks (they irritate the mucous membranes, it is enough to be warm).

Dangerous and harmful foods for rhinitis

Foods that support the formation of mucus are considered harmful.

Mucus-forming products:
  • dairy products (especially milk, cheese, butter);
  • meat products and semi-finished products thereof;
  • eggs;
  • pasta (pasta, muffins, pies);
  • starch and products in which it is present (for example, potatoes);
  • sweet, greasy, too salty and spicy dishes;
  • fast food.
