Myeloleukemia is a type of leukemia. In this disease, some bone marrow cells become malignant, from which pathological granulocytes are produced.

In the presence of such a health problem it is necessary to consume products containing vitamins B, C, iron, copper, cobalt, nickel and manganese. All of them are important for maintaining the general condition of the patient and help to restore red blood cells.

Useful foods for myelogenous leukemia

Products that include in their composition the necessary vitamins and elements are:

  • of animal origin: mackerel, cod, octopus, pink salmon, poultry, rabbit, herring (fat), fresh milk, chicken egg yolks, cottage cheese, liver (pork, beef), kidneys, tongue, cheese;
  • of plant origin:

- vegetables: lettuce, leeks, peas, cabbage (red), red sweet pepper, horseradish, parsley root, beans, carrots, red beets (in no case sugar), potatoes, pumpkin, eggplant, corn, zucchini;

- decoctions of fresh or dried rose hips;

- Fruits: oranges, tangerines, pomegranates, pears, cherries, gooseberries, dark blue grapes, avocados, apricots, lemons, peaches, blackcurrants, strawberries, apples, plums, blueberries;
- cereals: oat products, buckwheat, millet, wheat, rice and others;

  • bee products are also useful: honey (especially dark), propolis.

Dangerous and harmful foods in myelogenous leukemia

  • Reduce fat intake. It is absolutely forbidden to eat foods that contain beef and lamb fat (tallow). Fats clog blood vessels, as a result of which blood clots form, and the already disturbed blood circulation is disturbed.
  • Do not take caffeine (tea, coffee, Coca-Cola, etc.), it interferes with the absorption of iron.
  • The effect of vinegar is also detrimental - it destroys blood cells.
  • Alcohol and smoking: the former disrupts the blood clotting process, and nicotine reduces the permeability of blood vessels.
  • Curry, ginger, oregano, paprika, thyme, licorice, cranberry and viburnum fruits - all of them belong to the group of products that cut the blood (reduce clotting). This is dangerous for people suffering from myelogenous leukemia (often they also have anemia, bleeding gums).
