Nephritis is an inflammation of the kidneys that can also affect the renal glomeruli, pelvis, tubules and pelvis.

The diet should be caloric and balanced, the menu should include proteins, fats and carbohydrates in optimal proportions. Daily fluid intake should be proportional to the amount of urine excreted. Unloading days are useful, which can be based on the consumption of watermelon, apples, berries or cucumbers.

Principles to be followed by the nephrite patient:

  • the menu should contain high-calorie foods rich in protein, for example: purees, mousses;
  • to ensure high caloric content of meals through fats and carbohydrates;
  • to increase the intake of vitamins by drinking more fruit and vegetable juices;
  • striving for water-salt balance.

The following products are allowed for consumption:

  • pasta: bread with minimal salt content, pancakes without salt;
  • soups: fruit, vegetarian, dairy, which after preparation can be flavored with minimal amounts of sour cream, parsley, onion, dill;
  • meat products: lean types of meat that can be roasted or fried after cooking, but a little;
  • fish: lean species, cooked, lightly fried or steamed;
  • dairy products: fresh milk, liquid and sour cream, cottage cheese, sour milk drinks;
  • eggs: can be taken in any form, but not more than two per day;
  • all cereals, vegetables and appetizers, but not pickled or otherwise salted;
  • fruits and berries: all kinds, both raw and cooked, also prepared from them compotes, pickles, jellies, jam;
  • honey and sweets are among the permitted sweets;
  • drinks: fruit tea, fruit and vegetable juices, decoction of blueberries, strawberries, rose hips.

Dangerous and harmful foods in nephritis

As inflammation of the kidneys is observed, it is necessary to limit the intake of salt, vegetable protein and drinks that irritate the kidneys. The latter include: strong coffee, alcohol, mineral water, hot chocolate.

Exclude from the menu salted and smoked products, marinades, canned food, pickles.
