In this article, learn more about Nutrition In Neuroblastoma. Nutrition in neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma is a malignant tumor located in the sympathetic nervous system (which controls the work of internal organs). In most cases, the tumor occurs in young children.

Scientists believe that the appearance of the tumor is associated with pathological changes in DNA cells.
Theoretically, the disease can affect any part of the body, but the most common diagnosis is retroperitoneal neuroblastoma.

Symptoms of the disease:

  • increased abdominal size, palpation of dense tumor nodules;
  • difficulty breathing and swallowing, cough, chest deformity;
  • general weakness, tingling in the limbs (if the tumor develops in the spinal canal);
  • bulging eyes (if the tumor affects the eyeball);
  • impaired urination and defecation (when the pelvis is affected by the formation);
  • the disease can also be expressed by classic symptoms: decreased appetite, weight loss, lack of strength, fever (but not high);
  • in the presence of metastases it is possible to observe anemia, bone pain, significantly weakened immunity, enlarged liver and lymph nodes, the appearance of bluish spots on the skin.

Eating ...

Useful products for neuroblastoma

There are a number of foods and a certain group of vitamins that stop the growth of the tumor. Consumption of large amounts of fruits, berries, vegetables, rich in vitamins C, A, E, stop the growth and development of cancer cells. These are, for example: carrots, spinach, citrus fruits, garlic, onions ...

The results of a number of studies show that the intake of products rich in vitamin A leads to a halt in tumor growth, and in some cases even to its reduction.

B vitamins contribute to increasing the body's defenses, and in the absence of the element, the formation develops intensively.

Betaine (a substance contained in large quantities in beets) is characterized by similar properties.

Very useful are salads, which contain fresh green spices such as dill, parsley, as well as salads of radishes with pine needles, nettle leaves, dandelion or burdock.

It is good to include pumpkin in the menu, because it contains many useful trace elements (copper, iron, zinc), helping to fight the disease and regulate the work of the intestines and stomach. Eat about 300 grams of boiled pumpkin daily, divided into several portions.
