Finnish nutritionists have found that children who eat oatmeal and whole grains at an early age have a significantly lower risk of developing bronchial asthma.
Oatmeal is an extremely complete cereal, rich in protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals. They are useful because they regulate metabolism, increase the vitality of the body, successfully strengthen the immune system. They are easily digested by the human body. They are suitable for all ages due to their high content of dietary fiber - fiber. This makes them an important part of a healthy diet.
Researchers from Finland have studied the beneficial effects of oatmeal in children with asthma. They conducted an experiment in which more than 1,300 children took part.
The results showed that the risk of asthma and allergies is significantly lower in children, to whose diet is added oatmeal after their fifth month.
In addition, these children had stronger immunity and were less likely to suffer from respiratory and infectious diseases.
According to the authors of the study, the results prove the usefulness of whole grains for the growing body, strengthen the immune system and have anti-inflammatory properties.
Research has shown that fish are also extremely useful for young children. It was found that five-year-olds who were given fish and seafood from an early age were significantly less likely to suffer from hay fever and allergies than their peers who did not receive such foods.
Nutritionists advise oatmeal not to be excluded from the diet of older children. If the child does not want to eat oatmeal, it can be replaced with oatmeal.
To draw children's attention to these not very appetizing, but at the expense of extremely useful cereals, parents can be imaginative and combine oatmeal or nuts with additives such as honey, fresh or dried fruit, small pieces of chocolate, colored sticks etc
In addition to children, oatmeal is extremely suitable for adults, as it contains large amounts of fiber and fiber. Ballast substances saturate and reduce appetite. In addition to helping to follow a diet, these foods improve the condition of constipation, hemorrhoids and other colon problems.
An extremely useful property of fiber is that it lowers the level of so-called "bad" (LDL) cholesterol. This is due to the fact that fiber contains the full absorption of certain fats and reduces the risk of atherosclerosis. They also slow down the absorption of simple carbohydrates and help with weight control.
Fiber-rich foods manage to bind to the carcinogens and toxins we take in with our food and eliminate them from the body. This is considered by scientists to be a mechanism that protects against colon cancer.
Nutritionists and dietitians recommend that diabetics eat foods rich in fiber because they reduce the daily need for insulin production, while preventing weight gain and sparing the pancreas.
