In all healthy people, the level of sugar in the blood increases after eating . When it is too high, sugar is carried to all parts of the body, which increases the risk of developing diabetes afterwards.
However, scientists from the University of Missouri have found that when our breakfast is rich in protein , we manage to maintain optimal blood sugar levels and prevent insidious disease.
To support this claim, they conducted an experiment with people between the ages of 18 and 55 who consumed a variety of foods or just water for four consecutive days.
During this time, they monitored the amount of glucose and insulin in the body.
The results showed that after protein-rich snacks, these figures were much lower. At the same time, the participants in the experiment, who started their day with more carbohydrates , had a much higher blood sugar level.
Proteins make up all living cells. They are our building blocks.
Foods rich in such substances are meat, fish, milk, eggs, legumes, nuts and cereals. Vegetables also contain proteins and antioxidants - such as gpax, corn and bokoli, but they are in very small quantities.
Unfortunately, many people rely on processed and sweet foods in their diet , which contain mostly simple carbohydrates and very little protein. This is at the expense of their health and weight. Because protein has many benefits for the body as a whole and should be one of the staple foods in everyone's diet.
One of the advantages of proteins is that they contain a chemical that sends a signal to the brain and tells it that the stomach is full. Other foods do not have such an element and therefore it is easy to overeat with them.
In addition, protein is less caloric. The other benefit of protein is that it nourishes the muscles .
