Seeds - Useful Or Harmful?

Sunflower seeds can damage not the appendicitis, but the teeth. However, the nutrients in them are not to be neglected at all ...

Do not overdo the seeds is advice we have heard at least once in our childhood, because of the danger of appendicitis.
It turns out that sunflower seeds do not affect appendicitis. Instead, they harm the teeth. The constant peeling of the seeds affects the tooth enamel, which subsequently leads to caries.

The other problem with the consumption of sunflower seeds is that they are a high-calorie food product - 100 g of seeds contain 520 kcal. This is equivalent to more than 200 g of bread, about 100 g of chocolate, about 200 g of pork steak ...

Eating seeds will be a problem for overweight people when you overdo it. But in addition to the high caloric content it has, sunflower seeds are also very useful. Seeds are a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids, which help lower the level of bad cholesterol in the blood and strengthen the heart and blood vessels.

Sunflower seeds contain:

  • Vitamin E - prevents the formation of premature wrinkles and heart attacks.
  • Vitamin A - a vitamin necessary for the skin and for good eyesight.
  • B vitamins - which play a significant role in preventing depression and insomnia.
  • Vitamin D - necessary for bone strength and absorption of calcium by the body.
  • Zinc - thanks to it we enjoy a fresh look on the face, healthy hair and nails and good immunity.
  • Magnesium - useful for the activity of the heart and nervous system, has to do with muscle formation and normalization of blood pressure.

The seeds improve appetite. They also contribute to the rapid healing of wounds.

During heat treatment, sunflower seeds lose a large percentage of their useful nutrients. Therefore, it is advisable to dry the seeds instead of baking them.
