The love of tasty and filling food usually adversely affects the figure and we start looking for quick and easy ways to fix it. Monodiet, properly unloading days and fasting have repeatedly proven their effectiveness. They do help to get rid of a few extra pounds in a short period of time , but often such weight loss ends in collapse and unplanned overeating, which in turn leads to the subsequent accumulation of more pounds than we were before the diet.

Practice shows that the best weight loss is achieved with the help of diet plans that are not based on strict adherence to a diet. One such is the diet with the promising name "Matchstick" . It is so called because it is claimed that with its help the pounds "burn" like a match.

Basic principles of the "Matchstick" diet

  • the menu is based on consumption mainly of plant products (fresh vegetables, green leafy plants, fruits and berries, cereals / whole grains, bran);
  • during the diet it is necessary to completely give up meat and fish, with the exception of non-concentrated broths from them;
  • at least 30-50 grams of bran should be eaten during the day, which can be added to all dishes or consumed alone when a feeling of hunger occurs;
  • a mandatory condition is the daily drinking of not less than 3 liters of fluids, which includes not only water, but also fruit and vegetable juices, teas, herbal decoctions and non-fat sour milk drinks;
  • to speed up the weight loss process, moderate exercise is recommended, 30 minutes a day is enough.

There is no specific menu to follow. It can be compiled independently, taking into account the energy value of each of the products.

Daily menu options

Breakfast:
  • oatmeal (barley) porridge without sugar (up to 250 grams);
  • cooked rice without salt and spices (up to 180 grams);
  • kefir with bran (up to 250 milliliters).
Lunch:
  • steamed vegetables (mushrooms) or puree of them (up to 300 grams);
  • vegetable soups with meat (fish) broth (up to 350 milliliters);
  • all kinds of vegetable salads flavored with olive oil (up to 300 grams).
Dinner:
  • chopped fruit (up to 300 grams), cottage cheese smoothies and berries (up to 200 grams);
  • salad of boiled vegetables (carrots, beets) with apples, prunes, walnuts (up to 350 grams);
  • vegetarian cream soups (up to 300 milliliters).
Additional meals (second breakfast, afternoon breakfast, light snack):
  • a handful of berries (maybe walnuts or dried fruit);
  • 1-2 fresh fruits (apple, grapefruit);
  • natural juices;
  • oat (wheat) bran;
  • skim yogurt.

Frequency and duration of the diet

Weight loss with "Matchstick" mode should be applied no more often than once a month. The menu is not balanced in composition and does not include the full range of nutrients necessary for the normal functioning of the body. The maximum duration of the diet is 7 days.

The result

Feedback from followers of the diet is good, as their experience says that in 7 days (which is the maximum duration of this meal) you lose up to 7 pounds. The regime is not strict, the menu is mainly vegetarian.

Harm and contraindications

There are no contraindications regarding the age and health of a person. The diet is tolerated relatively lightly by the body, without a feeling of excruciating hunger. However, in the presence of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, it is recommended to consult a gastroenterologist before proceeding to adherence to such a diet.
