Spelled has been grown since ancient times and is considered the main type of wheat from which all present originate. It contains more than twice as many vitamins, proteins and zinc. In Bulgaria it is also known as dinkel, an easily digestible and natural product that combines many benefits for human health and proper nutrition.

 

Spelled contains niacin, trace elements and has a reduced gluten content. It is also rich in fiber, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, beta-carotene and B vitamins. It helps in the fight against excess weight and maintains the proper functioning of the body, improves blood circulation, protects the endocrine system, promotes the production of hormones.

 

Consumption of dinkel favors the nervous system, regulates cholesterol levels, reduces the risk of heart disease, keeps bones healthy and stable. From this type of wheat are prepared various breads and pastries with great taste and aroma, rich in riboflavin and vitamin B2. In cooked form it can replace potatoes and rice.

 

Spelled is used to make muesli, beer, pasta, decaffeinated coffee, main dishes, salads and more. The scales of the plant are used in industry, thanks to which mattresses, pillows and upholstered furniture are filled.

 

They have an analgesic effect, soothe muscle spasms and body aches. All products containing dinkel are more expensive, as crop production is not large and demand is increasing. Spelled flour and grains can be found in organic stores as well as in hypermarkets.
