Low-carbohydrate, low-calorie, purifying, fast ... all sorts of diets promise us to quickly achieve the desired weight loss. But is this possible?
Therefore, whether a diet will work or not with us is important what is our initial weight and what weight loss we aim for. Losing a lot of weight is actually possible, but only when there are tens above the norm. In this case, a diet could work quickly, which will necessarily require control of the whole process by a nutritionist and a doctor. If you want to lose 5 kg and you are in the BMI norm, then no drastic diet could give the desired effect, especially permanently, even more so without harming your health.
Last year, the British Dietary Society alerted the public to the dangerous effects of some popular diets, such as Ducan's. With these food models it is not possible to achieve a weight loss effect for a long time. There is also no scientific evidence that they work in the way described by those who promote them.
Most of these diets promise results in the short term and, perhaps, weight loss will actually be achieved within these limits. But their effect will stop there. We will be unpleasantly surprised if we expect to achieve proportional weight loss by continuing the diet.
