The Most Dangerous Product For The Heart And Blood Vessels

Scientists from the University of Otago (New Zealand) conducted a study, according to the data of which one of the most dangerous food products for human health is sugar. "Sugar is capable of provoking the growth of cardiovascular diseases, regardless of what body weight a person has," this is the verdict of experts.

The results of a large-scale analysis of a number of scientific studies devoted to the problem of sugar consumption and conducted in the period from 1965 to 2013 speak in favor of the opinion of New Zealand scientists. Experts compared different types of food with the same calorie content, but with different content of natural carbohydrates and refined sugar. At the same time, experts were interested in how blood pressure and lipids in people's blood correlate with the use of these products.

As a result, the experts obtained data similar to those obtained in the 37 studies they analyzed, which indicated a connection between the regular use of sugar and an increase in the level of "bad" cholesterol in the blood, as well as in 12 studies that talk about the correlation between eating sugar and increasing blood pressure.

"WHO's recommendations on reducing sugar consumption are absolutely justified and a necessary measure," the authors of the study said.
