Water During Meals = More Fruits And Vegetables

On the other hand, the consumption of sweetened and carbonated cakes is associated with regular eating of cooked meals.

The benefits of water consumption have been pointed out more than once by scientists. A new study adds another to the long "useful" list. It was conducted by Spanish researchers and found that when drinking water while eating, people tend to eat more fruits and vegetables .

The aim is to study the relationship between people's eating habits and what they consume - fruits, vegetables, dairy products , salty and fatty foods , cooked meals, etc.

The experts analyzed data related to the eating habits of 1,332 people aged between 20 and 79 years. Every detail is taken into account - from the number of meals per day, the type of food consumed, to the drinks that participants drink during meals.

Researchers have come to two particularly interesting findings - the consumption of sweetened beverages during meals is associated with regular eating of cooked meals. On the other hand, those who drink water while eating eat two or more servings of fruits and vegetables.

Of course, as the authors themselves note, the established relationship may not be one of the reasons, but it refers to a person's desire to follow a healthy diet .

According to them, it is logical that people who prefer water to carbonated and sweetened drinks should be the same ones who consume more fruits and vegetables.
