Summer is the season of gastrointestinal viral infections. These infections occur with fever, vomiting and disorder and last on average between 2-3 and 5-6 days. When the urge to vomit is very acute, the consumption of food and fluids should be done only with a spoon - without drinking from a glass (or bottle in babies), eating pieces, etc. At least 6 hours after the last vomiting, the consumption of liquids and foods should be done only with a spoon.


 

Children often power proved problematic. If the child flatly refuses to eat, do not force him and try to give him more fluids in which you put rehydration drugs.

From the second day we can start eating yogurt, which is a source of good bacteria that will support the activity of the stomach. It is important that the milk is not an imitation product and that it has been stored properly to avoid exacerbating the symptoms.

 

Absolutely forbidden foods are : fatty foods - fried meats, vegetables, sauces and fatty fillings, alcoholic beverages and caffeinated products. The latter help to further dehydrate the body and would complicate the condition. Also avoid foods that contain sweeteners such as sorbitol saccharin, stevia and others. In some people, they have a laxative effect. In diarrhea, sugar substitutes should be avoided, and they are found in soft drinks, chewing gum, candy, etc.

 

Foods rich in cellulose and gaseous foods are also banned . Such are cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, watermelon, pears, plums. And also legumes such as beans, lentils, peas, etc. In general, raw vegetables and fruits (except bananas and apples) are not recommended during diarrhea.


Be careful with foods that are perishable or suspect that they have not been stored properly. This is especially true for meat, eggs and dairy products.

 

Recommended foods . It usually takes a few days for the stomach to settle. During this time you can eat boiled potatoes, rice, cream soups with potatoes, carrots, zucchini and a small amount of butter. Rice and rice water are easy to digest and are rich in carbohydrates, which supply the body with carbohydrates. Pasta products are also suitable - such as couscous and various types of pasta.

 

Prepare chicken soup as the meat should be free of any fat and skin. The meat should be cooked over low heat for a long time. Apples are also suitable for consumption in diarrhea.
