Lentils are very rich in B vitamins, and its sprouted seeds contain a high content of vitamin C. In terms of folic acid (vitamin B9), it is an unprecedented leader among other foods. A portion of ready-made lentils contains not less than 90% of the daily amount of B9 needed by the body.

Due to the presence of the most important amino acids, which are easily absorbed by the body, lentils can be included in the menu as an additional source of protein during fasting, be part of diets and necessarily present in the menu of vegetarians.

The low fat content (less than in peas) makes lentils an excellent dietary product. It contains dietary fiber (both soluble and insoluble). Soluble fiber is useful for maintaining the intestinal microflora, as prevention against various diseases, including cancer), as well as for good digestion, they also create a feeling of satiety, which is very important when you want to lose weight.

Insoluble fiber stimulates intestinal motility, helps remove toxic compounds and toxins from the body, excellent prevention against constipation.

The lens  helps maintain immunity, stimulates metabolism and the work of the genitourinary system.

The product contains isoflavones, which are able to reduce the risk of developing various hormone-dependent tumors. These nutrients are retained in the lens, even after its processing in various ways.

Diet for weight loss with lentils

  • As long as you follow the lentil diet, you should drink enough water (mineral or plain), weak black tea or green without sugar. It is best to take all drinks between meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
  • The duration of the diet should not exceed seven days (the course can be repeated several times a year).
  • The diet with lentils will help you get rid of 5-7 pounds, depending on the lifestyle you lead, metabolism and individual characteristics of the body.

Contraindications

Do not follow the diet if:

  • you have weakened immunity;
  • you are elderly or childish;
  • you have diseases of the digestive organs in the period of exacerbation;
  • you are pregnant and breastfeeding.

About a menu in three days

First day:
  • Breakfast - muesli with 250 milliliters of milk with a fat content of 2.5%;
  • Lunch - a portion of 300 ml of vegetarian lentil soup (lentils, onions, carrots, potatoes, green spices);
  • Dinner - 150 grams of steamed fish, 50 grams of canned or fresh peas.
Second day:
  • Breakfast - 150 grams of yogurt - unsweetened;
  • Lunch - lentils baked with vegetables and rice (200 grams);
  • Dinner - 150 grams of vinaigrette salad.
Third day:
  • Breakfast - three medium baked apples with 1 teaspoon of honey;
  • Lunch - 150 grams of lentil bread (lentil flour, egg, milk, salt);
  • Dinner - salad of cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes with olive oil - a portion of 200 grams

Alternate the three-day menu for 7 days, and if you decide to repeat the diet, this should happen after at least 4 months. It is recommended to combine the lentil diet with multivitamins and light exercise.
