Nutrition is an important process for the body. Through it, the body maintains its daily functions, maintains optimal weight and fights some diseases. Doctors recommend eating a balanced diet at the same time every day.

Healthy eating along with physical activity and abstinence from bad habits are a prerequisite for better health. Our body needs high quality proteins, carbohydrates , some fats, vitamins and minerals that can be obtained through certain foods. Therefore, it is good not to consume processed foods , saturated fats and alcohol. There are a few things we must avoid after eating if we want to feel good:

Smoking

Scientists claim that lighting a cigarette immediately after a meal is extremely harmful and has a negative effect on the whole body. They believe that this one cigarette equals as many as 10. Smoking can irritate the intestines because nicotine binds to oxygen in the blood because it is more easily absorbed. Frequent smoking after meals increases the risk of bowel cancer and lung cancer, experts say.

Drinking tea

When we drink tea after a meal, especially after dinner, we interfere with normal digestion . Many teas contain the substance tannin, which reduces the absorption of iron. For some people, teas have a calming effect, but it is still better to consume in moderation.

Fruits

Fruits are considered good for health, but, unfortunately, their consumption after every meal (such as lunch and dinner) is harmful. Consumption of fruit , especially after a hearty meal with different foods, can irritate the stomach. Once in it, they ferment in the intestines, which leads to indigestion. Therefore, it is better to eat fruit between meals.

Sleeping

We are often told not to go to bed immediately after eating. On weekends, for example, many of us do not have breakfast, make a late lunch, where they eat more to catch up and go to bed. However, this is very harmful because food cannot be digested well. A study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology shows that indigestion, weight gain and the risk of stroke are linked to sleep and lazy behavior after eating.

Taking a shower

When we take a bath, the temperature of our skin increases depending on the water we use. When water comes in contact with the skin, our brain processes this change in body temperature as an immediate need to direct blood to the skin and return the temperature back to normal. If we bathe in cold water, the blood vessels dilate to dissipate excess heat. This in turn causes more blood flow to the skin and it cannot help digestion in the stomach .

The main thing we need to know is that after a meal it is better to take a walk or do something at home, because exercise stimulates our digestive system.
