According to a poll, more than two-thirds of all television commercials seen by children watching television offer high-calorie and unhealthy foods.

These results were announced by Australian cancer specialist Bridget Kelly at a meeting of the European Congress on Obesity. The results are based on a large-scale study covering thousands of children in eleven European countries as well as the United States.

Germany and the United States are the leading countries in broadcasting ads offering unhealthy and high-calorie products. Kelly and her colleagues believe that it is necessary to take measures to limit the advertising of high-calorie products. They explain their decision by the fact that in just one year, children see four to six thousand food ads, of which two to four thousand advertise unhealthy foods. They believe that restricting ads offering unhealthy foods will help fight obesity and obesity among children.

According to reports from the World Health Organization, about 177 million children and adolescents worldwide under the age of 18 suffer from clinical obesity. Of these, 22 million are children under the age of five. Obesity is not only aesthetic but also a serious health problem. It leads to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. However, said Bridget Kelly, governments in most countries do not want to regulate the advertising market.
