Celery juice is anti-inflammatory because it contains the organic compounds luteolin and polyacetylene, which suppress inflammation of bone diseases such as arthritis, gout and respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis. Lutein reduces DNA damage, and polyacetylene fights inflammation.

One of the ingredients of celery juice - phthalide , helps to relax the muscles in the blood vessels, which leads to lower levels of high blood pressure. Phthalide also lowers cholesterol levels in the body.
