Ours, Asian, Japanese, Taiwanese or sand pear - whichever of these names you come across, it's a Chinese pear . The fruit is not very well known in our country, its taste is pleasant and unusual - sweet with a fine spicy sour hue, and the consumption of the product brings a number of health benefits to the human body.

Ours is round, dense, and the color varies from light yellow through light green to bronze, depending on the variety. The rind is covered with brownish spots resembling grit, hence one of the names of the pear. Its flesh is white and juicy, at the same time firm and crunchy.

Composition

Like any fruit and vegetable, the Asian pear is a source of vitamins, minerals, water and cellulose. The high content of vitamin C in the product strengthens immunity, and the calcium in the composition strengthens teeth, nails and hair. The fruit also contains folic acid, which makes it useful for pregnant women.

Pear is also rich in vitamins E, PP, K and group B, and the minerals present are calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, zinc and selenium.

 

Useful properties:

  • improves the digestive system;
  • contributes to the growth of bone and muscle tissue due to its high phosphorus content;
  • normalizes the functions of the cardiovascular system and is a prophylaxis against the development of stroke and heart attack;
  • maintains cellular balance and prevents the development of cancer.

Chinese pear is suitable for dietary nutrition because it is low in calories.

Harm and contraindications

Although the fruit is good for humans, it can be harmful to health if several important points are not taken into account:

  • in order to be edible, the pear must be ripe; unripe fruits are forbidden to eat because they do not reflect well on the body.
  • the product is not consumed on an empty stomach;
  • the use of the fruit together with meat and dairy products is not recommended - this leads to an upset stomach;
  • not to eat in case of individual intolerance.
