Food coloring E 170 consists of plain white limestone. It is used in personal care products (in the production of toothpaste. The food additive plays an important role as a leavening agent and prevents acidity. It is approved for coloring cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It is used as a stabilizer in the production of chocolate, cocoa powder, hard cheeses, concentrated milk and cream.It is widely used in the production of grape juice.

Use

E 170 plays the role of a blood clotting agent in the human body. In nature it is found as a mineral, represented by calcite, argonite, vaterite. Stabilizes blood pressure and significantly regulates all internal processes. It is used for the preparation of pharmaceuticals such as calcium and calcium lactate; of drugs, including dietary supplements (biologically active supplements).

Calcium carbonate substances are widely used in industry: in the paper industry, in the glass industry for the manufacture of bottles, glass products and others. It is also used as a fertilizer for the soil because it improves its acidity; also in the production of plastic products; in household chemicals as a means of cleaning the environment.

Calcium carbonate is good for the body in case of calcium deficiency. The daily dose, when taken as prophylaxis, should not exceed 1.2 or 1.5.

Effects on the human body

A strong effect on the body is observed only in case of overdose with the product, which can cause various deviations. Extremely high concentrations can be fatal.

Excess calcium sometimes leads to intoxication. Not particularly large overdose causes hypercalcemia: complications, vomiting, stomach pain, mental changes, irritability, uncoordinated movements.

No side effects were observed when taking normal amounts.
