Garlic Is Also Useful Against Heart Problems

Garlic is useful in protecting heart tissue from damage that can lead to heart attacks.

Garlic protects against heart disease, according to a study by the Emory Medical University in the United States. According to scientists, a certain ingredient helps prevent damage to heart tissue, which can lead to heart attacks.

The beneficial effect is believed to be due to  diallyl trisulfide , a component of garlic oil.

Dialyl trisulfide releases hydrogen sulfide, which actually gives garlic an unpleasant odor. In low concentrations, it protects heart tissue, experts say.

According to other studies, hydrogen sulfide helps dilate blood vessels and has a positive effect on their patency. And improving blood circulation has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.

Garlic is also useful for lowering levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol , thus reducing the risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke.

Garlic contains vitamins A, B1, B2, iodine, as well as the rare and valuable trace element germanium , which has anti-cancer properties.

With regular consumption, garlic helps cleanse the body of harmful toxins that accumulate in the body during metabolism. It is also known to strengthen the immune system .
