Diet is the main condition for the effective treatment of gastritis, regardless of the form and course of the disease.
About the problemGastritis is a rather unpleasant disease that affects almost half of the population of our country. This is a collective concept, as gastritis is considered to be any inflammatory and/or dystrophic changes in the mucous membrane of the stomach.
Gastritis can be acute or chronic. The acute form of the disease occurs as a result of the poisonous action of acids, alkalis, radiation, as well as the action of some medications (aspirin and others). As a rule, acute gastritis is characterized by severe pain in the upper abdomen, nausea, vomiting, weakness and dizziness. In the case of an acute form of the disease, it is necessary to urgently seek medical help, and in the case of a severe course, hospitalization of the patient is indicated.
In some cases, acute gastritis turns into a chronic form after treatment, however, most often chronic gastritis is an independent disease.
Recently, scientists revealed the true cause of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum. It turns out that the bacterium Helicobacterpylori is to blame for everything - a bacterium that survives in the acidic environment of gastric juice.
The development of chronic gastritis also contributes to:
Only a doctor can diagnose gastritis, and depending on the course of the disease, prescribe the appropriate treatment. However, with any schedule, the primary goal is nutritional correction. It is impossible to achieve treatment without following a special diet, even if you take the most effective medications.
A diet for gastritis is prescribed by a doctor depending on the acidity of the stomach. With increased acidity, fractional nutrition is recommended 4-5 times a day, preferably at the same time. At the same time, it is necessary to exclude as much as possible food products that stimulate the secretion of gastric juice. These are rich meat, mushroom and fish broths, alcohol, as well as strong tea and coffee. With increased acidity, it is recommended to use products that neutralize the effect of acid. This is primarily milk and dairy products. It is also allowed to eat low-fat varieties of meat, fish, and eggs. All food should be boiled or steamed. Fried food should be excluded. Vegetables are also recommended to be boiled or pureed. It is advisable to slightly dry the bread before use, or make it into crackers.
With reduced (or normal) acidity, it is also necessary to adhere to 4-5 meals a day. The use of low-fat broth soups, low-fat varieties of meat and fish, sour-milk products, stale bread, well-cooked cereals, butter and vegetable oil is allowed. Vegetables and fruits can be consumed both boiled and raw.
Doctors do not recommend eating too hot or cold food, and hard food should be chewed thoroughly.
Treatment of gastritisIn the presence of an infectious agent (H. pylori), the patient is prescribed a course of antibiotic therapy. It should be borne in mind that it is quite difficult to get rid of this bacterium, so the antibacterial course lasts 10-14 days on average.
Drug therapy of gastritis also includes taking various drugs: antispasmodics, antidiarrheal, antiemetics, drugs that regulate the level of acidity, as well as gastroprotectors (drugs that protect the mucous membrane of the stomach).
As a rule, the treatment of acute gastritis lasts 2-4 weeks. Chronic gastritis requires longer therapy, sometimes up to 2 years. Patients with chronic gastritis should be under dispensary supervision and visit a doctor at least 2 times a year.
Bile diuretics are not prescribed for gastritis, they increase the inflammatory process. If the doctor prescribed this, change the doctor
