Removing harmful foods, also known as junk feet, is the first step toward losing extra pounds. Sometimes, however, even some healthy foods that we include in the menu can be surprisingly high in calories and fat.
That's why it matters how big the portion is, even when it comes to fruits, nuts, yogurt, and salads. Let's look at some of the foods that can sabotage the diet.
1. Red wine
People who consume moderate amounts of red wine, as well as other beverages, may have a reduced risk of developing heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, some cancers. They can even lose weight.
The key point here is moderate consumption, as the amount of 150 cells contains about 130 calories.
2. Nuts
Nuts contain heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamin E and fiber. However, they also have a large number of calories. In a quarter cup of almonds, for example, you can find 132 calories. We must be careful because they are easy to consume and it is not difficult to overdo it.
3. Dried fruits
They are normal fruits but without their water content. Interestingly, the amount of one cup of dried fruit contains eight times more calories and sugar, compared to the same amount of their fresh version.
In particular, a glass of fresh grapes contains 60 calories, while a raisin pulp contains 460.
