How To Celebrate Fun And Economically - We Organize A Party

In the previous article, we considered the basic principles of an economical and fun holiday. Now let's take a closer look at the process of organizing a party - step by step. What food to choose to satisfy all guests? How to prepare and serve it? Read on.

Organizational moments

Don't throw a big party

Usually, 10-15 invited guests are more than enough. The main thing is friendly company, not the number of guests.

Choose a topic

Having a theme will help you plan your party . Although it is not a mandatory condition, it adds to the fun and helps to choose games, food, and decor.

  • A pajama or spa party is for girls .

  • A party dedicated to food or drinks. Cheese party , pizza or sushi party . Pina colada patty. This will allow you not to spend a lot of effort and money on the preparation of various snacks, but will allow you to focus on preparing a small assortment of dishes and drinks with high quality and taste.

  • A party dedicated to the culture of a certain country. A Japanese party with sushi and sake, an English tea party, a Scottish whiskey party — the benefits are identical to the previous position.

  • Picnic in nature.

Choose an inexpensive place for the party

Choosing the right place for the party will help save a significant amount.

  • Own house or apartment.

  • Apartment or house of a relative or acquaintance.

  • Rented premises (in a dormitory, gym, library, etc.).

  • Park or beach.

Entertainment program

There is nothing worse than having guests crowding around different corners of the apartment, feeling uncomfortable and weakly trying to start a conversation. Under such conditions, there really is nothing left but to eat and drink. The organization of fun and atmosphere at the party should be the main task.

First of all, think about the company of invited guests - how easily they will find a common language, or will you have to call everyone every minute to communicate. It is better to invite few, but close and fun people who will be comfortable together.

Think games - there are a lot of them. Take care of music and a place for dancing - it is very important for a party . If the premises do not allow you to organize dances, you can go to the disco after the party at home - after finding out which clubs and until what time they are open for free.

Food at a party

The biggest part of the cost of the party will be food and drinks. Also, do not forget to think about napkins, glasses, plastic dishes, etc.

  • A themed party tied to some food/drink.

  • Storage - each of the guests will bring their favorite dish.

  • Budget menu: some food (for example, spaghetti) is inexpensive, but almost everyone likes it.

  • Cook it yourself. Many dishes will cost you much less if you cook them at home instead of buying them in stores. Another advantage is quality assurance.

We learn to chew while standing

Unfortunately, we don't have a party culture per se - the American-style pool party with the obligatory outdoor barbecue. We have our own tradition, according to which any parties are held : anniversaries, weddings, birthdays. The guests sit tightly at the table, which bends from the food, drink mostly vodka or cognac, eat, eat and eat again. It is not a sin to refuse such a tradition - why burden yourself with unnecessary problems.

Don't be afraid to go against the system. Give up the festive table as such. Let the guests chew standing or sitting on a chair, sofa or wherever they like. Organize a buffet or a buffet. After all, a person who most of the time sits at the table surrounded by plates of food becomes a free prisoner: he eats and eats all the time, it doesn't matter that he satisfied his hunger several salads ago. At the same time, a person who approaches the communal table will think about what exactly he wants to fill his plate with, so as not to run here and there, he will eat slowly and savor the dishes.

You don't need to cook a lot. It is better to think of original and good dishes, but quite familiar and loved by everyone.

The main rule of a party with a buffet table is that all dishes should be such that they can be easily divided into small portions, so that all guests can take everything they like on their plates.

It is better to focus your attention on appetizers and desserts, as this is an elementary more convenient option. But, if you are still not ready to take such decisive steps and completely abandon the traditional festive table as such, you can think of options for hot dishes made of meat and side dishes, which will also be suitable for our party .

Snack

  • Canapes . An ideal option for a snack - they can be prepared from anything, the main ingredient is bread. To make it tastier, you can pre-fry the bread in vegetable oil, rub it with garlic or something. You can put, for example, grated cheese mixed with sauce on the bread and decorate it with a slice of tomato. Or cod liver mixed with a crushed egg. Or, say, sprat pate soaked in lemon juice. Or sparrows themselves. Or a banal sausage or ham, supplemented with a pickle. You can try the classic English version - put a piece of fresh cucumber on thinly buttered bread. Or you can make hot sandwiches. Make the canapés smaller - then they will seem several times larger. Do not be afraid to experiment - make sandwiches with vegetables (fresh or cooked), do not spare the sauces.

  • Salads . Not only tasty, but also a useful option for a snack for a party . Make a few types, but don't make anything too complicated. Cut the cabbage, peel it, add oil. You can add onion, apple, greens. You can also grate carrots or beets and mix them with garlic and mayonnaise. Cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers go well together. You can also prepare a fish salad from canned saury or tuna, mixed with anything - potatoes, rice, apples, onions, cucumbers, eggs, greens.

Hot meals

  • Meat . It is better to choose chicken: legs, thighs, wings, fillet. The recipe for Georgian chakhokbili will be especially suitable: quick, tasty and economical. We take a chicken or two (depending on the number of guests), cut it into small pieces, throw it in a saucepan, pour a small amount of water, stew for 10 minutes, then add finely chopped onions (about 1 kg). When the dish is almost ready (40 minutes is enough), add chopped tomatoes, garlic, cilantro leaves, salt and pepper to the pot. Also, the chicken can be baked in the oven and divided into pieces before serving.

  • An alternative to meat . As an option, you can cook fish or mushrooms. There are also many recipes. If you choose the option of a buffet table, do not forget to prepare such a dish so that it is easy to divide it into small portions.

  • Side dish . Even ordinary potatoes will be transformed if they are already boiled and baked in the oven, sprinkled with grated cheese. And rice will be especially tasty if it is thoroughly washed and added to pre-stewed onions and carrots in a 1:1 ratio.

  • Perfect food . An ideal option to feed guests is pizza. Cooking pizza does not require special skills but effort. The filling can be varied - which will satisfy the tastes of all guests. In a word - tasty, filling and inexpensive. And almost everyone loves pizza. Also, a good option would be burgers or hot dogs - prepared at home, they will not require special efforts and expenses - this is a tasty and satisfying dish. This is even a better option than cooking meat with a side dish.

Dessert

When preparing dessert, be guided by the following principles. First, the dessert should be light (if it is not a sweet table, but a party with all dishes - both appetizers and hot). After all, the guests will not be hungry anyway, but everyone will want to try. Secondly, it should be convenient to divide it into small portions - you can prepare several varieties of sweets in small quantities.

  • Cake . You should not choose large, creamy cakes, ordered in a store or prepared at home with significant expenditure of time, money and effort. If you still want to treat your guests to a cake, prepare the well-known and beloved waffle cake from childhood, or something. This dessert is easy to prepare and divide into small portions.
  • Cupcakes . Another, more suitable option is cupcakes. Small cupcakes in individual molds are easy to prepare and convenient to eat. And there can be many recipes.
  • Pie . A pie divided into parts or pies is also a good option, both for dessert and as an appetizer - depending on the filling. Do not forget, also, about homemade cookies, pancakes or fritters - despite, it would seem, simplicity and mundaneness - they are tasty and simple. And a good design and a variety of fillings or additives will do the trick.

  • Fruits and berries . An absolutely win-win option — both tasty and useful. The only thing is to give preference to seasonal fruits, which will save money. The serving of fruit can also be unusual - consider additions such as cream or hot chocolate.

Booze

One of the key moments of a successful party. It is clear to everyone that alcohol is a significant expense. However, alcohol- free parties are not very popular.

Wine is a fine option, but unfortunately not very cheap. If only you don't have stocks of home wine, then it's a different matter. In the cold season, a good option is mulled wine or grog.

Vodka is, of course, a national drink, but it is heavy. And it is not suitable for every company. But it can be used as a basis for preparing various cocktails. The simplest is a screwdriver. The cocktail, however, is also for the amateur.

To satisfy the tastes of those who love sweets, liqueurs are well suited, which, by the way, will also be a good base for cocktails. Or take vermouth. Another good option is to make sangria.

There is always beer. However, you can't make cocktails with beer - if you don't want a difficult morning the next day. And, also, not everyone likes beer.

Take care of soft drinks. Forget store-bought juices or sugary sodas — make homemade compote or lemonade instead.

The main thing is not to forget ice for drinks, large glasses and straws.
