The addition of pistachios to various pastries gives a special taste, which is difficult to achieve with other nuts, as they are very specific. If you like green nuts, be sure to try the pistachio cake, which is very tasty!

Required products :

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tea cups sugar
  • 220 grams of butter
  • 1 teaspoon yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 drops of green food coloring
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons flour
  • 1 1/2 tea cups ground pistachios
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

for the glaze:

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • pinch of salt

Method of preparation :

Preheat the oven to 170 degrees, grease a cake pan with butter (or oil) and sprinkle with flour, tapping it to spread over the entire form. Pour the excess back into the package.

Using a mixer, beat the eggs with the sugar until they turn white. Add the butter with the vanilla and yoghurt. Color with food coloring.

Sift the flour, add the ground nuts, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix the dry and wet ingredients and pour into the pan.

Bake until dry stick for 50-55 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool until you can safely remove it from the pan.

Mix powdered sugar with milk, cardamom and salt. Stir well to combine.

Pour the icing over the baked and cooled cake and sprinkle with more crushed pistachios, if desired.
