Necessary products

For the dough:

1 kg of flour

40 - 50 grams of may

1.5 cups of fresh milk

50 - 70 grams of butter

2 eggs

2 tablespoons sugar

salt on the tip of a knife

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

For the stuffing:

150 grams of honey

300 grams of poppy seeds

3/4 teaspoon sugar

egg for spreading

Method of preparation :

Pour the yeast (pre-crushed) with 50 milliliters of warm water and add a little sugar. Stir well and leave for 15 minutes in a warm place, then stir again. Heat the milk slightly, pour in the sugar, vanilla, salt, beat the eggs and mix everything. Add the melted butter, stir again. Finally, add the yeast and stir last.

Sift the flour, add it to the resulting mixture and knead a dough that is soft enough, but also elastic and does not stick to your hands. Shape it into a ball, grease with oil, place in a dry clean pan and cover with a wet towel. Close the container with a lid and leave in a warm place. It should rise 4 times.

Take care of the filling. Pour hot water over the poppies and leave for 30-40 minutes. Drain the water, squeeze the poppy seeds and crush in a mortar along with the honey and sugar.

Roll out the dough, spread the filling and roll it up. Place in a pan greased with oil and smear the surface with egg. Before you spread the egg, you can make flowers or other figures from the dough for decoration, which you can place on the roll.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the roll until ready (about 35 - 40 minutes. Wait for it to cool in the oven, remove and cut into pieces.

From this amount of dough you can form 2-3 rolls.

You can experiment with the filling: jam, jam, dried fruit or anything else of your choice.

Enjoy your meal!
