But for an experienced hostess, it will not be difficult to cook excellent, healthy and tasty treats from this nondescript, and seemingly unattractive fish.
Spicy salted Baltic herring is super tasty. Fried in batter - it flies off the table like seeds. Why cook herring? Herring boiled with spices can be served with mashed potatoes or any other side dish - it's healthy and tasty. It is also very tasty to cook from boiled herring (in company with fried onions) an excellent filling for pies and pies.
You can then bake these pies in the oven or deep-fry - it will turn out very tasty in any case. No one will even suspect that this inconspicuous small fish was used as a filling. When cooking herring, consider some points:
— choose high-quality fish for work;
- before cooking, thoroughly clean the fish and rinse well;
- do not digest the fish so that it does not turn into porridge. Herring cooking time is very short;
- boiled herring can be frozen in portions and then used as a filling for pies at any convenient time.

Remove the head and entrails from the herring and rinse again in cold water.
