How To Cook Homemade Turkish Delight With Orange Peel And Walnuts - Recipe

Required products :

1/4 teaspoon starch
1 teaspoon water
2.5 teaspoon sugar
5 tablespoons grated orange peel
nuts 10 walnuts
powdered sugar for rolling

Preparation :
Pour 1/2 cup of water into a saucepan and pour the sugar. Put the dish on the stove (at medium temperature) and let the syrup cook for about 15 minutes after boiling.
Pour the starch into a separate bowl and pour in the remaining lukewarm water. Stir thoroughly to make the mixture homogeneous without lumps.
Add the dissolved starch to the sugar syrup, stirring again just before pouring. This should be done when the contents of the pot begin to boil vigorously.
Then let everything simmer over low heat, add the grated citrus peel.
Roast the walnuts in a dry pan, remove the skin, cut them and put in the mixture on the stove.
The mixture is boiled until it begins to separate from the walls of the pan.
Cover the bottom and walls of a suitable form with baking paper or foil, grease with oil and pour the resulting mixture (the layer should be about 2 cm thick).
Refrigerate for 5 hours to allow the dessert to set, then cut into cubes and roll in powdered sugar.
You can now enjoy delicious homemade Turkish delight with walnuts.
