Required products for every 500 grams of beets :

350 milliliters of water

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

5 tablespoons granulated sugar

5 cloves

5 grains of allspice

Method of preparation:

Peel a squash, grate it and put it in a large saucepan with salted water. Let it boil for 40 minutes. Then wash under running water, peel and allow to cool completely.

In a separate bowl, mix the water, vinegar, sugar and other spices. Put on the stove and when the mixture boils, reduce the temperature and cook for 5 minutes.

Cut the beets into thick pieces, put them in the hot marinade and cook for a few minutes on low heat.

Distribute the beets in jars, pour the hot liquid and close the jars. Store in the refrigerator.
