How To Cook Mexican Chocolate Biscuits With Icing - Recipe

Required products :

for biscuits:

  • 1/4 cup butter, soft
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • a pinch of hot pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups flour

for the vanilla glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3-4 teaspoons of fresh milk (if necessary add more)

for the chocolate glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5-6 tablespoons fresh milk (if necessary add more)

* A tea cup is used to measure the quantities.

Method of preparation :

cookie dough:

In a large bowl, beat the butter with the coconut oil with a mixer on medium speed until well combined. Add the sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and hot pepper and continue to beat until smooth. Add the egg, vanilla, cocoa and flour in sequence, beating constantly. Using a wooden spoon, mix the dough until homogeneous, then divide it in half, cover and cool for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator.

glaze:

In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and milk until smooth.

Prepare the chocolate glaze in a separate bowl, using the same ingredients, but add 2 tablespoons of cocoa and a little more milk, mix until smooth.

biscuits:

Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Spread the kitchen surface and roll out the cooled dough. Cut figures using molds. Place the biscuits at a distance from each other in a tray covered with baking paper. Bake for 5-6 minutes or until done, remove and allow to cool, then decorate with vanilla and chocolate glazes according to your wishes and imagination.
