Required products :

  • 1 dark beer
  • 1 medium onion head
  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 kg of beef
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8 carrots
  • 7 potatoes
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Method of preparation :

Cut one onion into small pieces and the lemon into thin slices. Put them in a zippered bag and add the beer and soy sauce, along with the crushed garlic cloves. Add the meat and leave to marinate for a minimum of 8 hours, preferably 24 hours. Remove the meat from the bag and sprinkle with black pepper, and save the marinade for later.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan and seal the meat on each side for 4 minutes. Add the marinade and collect the remaining pieces of meat at the bottom of the pan. Wait for the liquid to boil. Transfer the meat with the sauce to a pan and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 2 and a half hours at 160 degrees.

Meanwhile, cut the carrots diagonally and the potatoes and onions in bulk. Remove the meat from the oven, turn it over and add the vegetables. Return to the oven for 2 hours, again covered with foil, until the vegetables are fully cooked.

Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and pour the starch together with 1/2 teaspoon of water, stir and cook for about 5 minutes until a thick sauce is obtained.

Pour 1/2 tea cup of sauce over the roast, serve the rest as an addition to the dish.
