Many people's favorite fried slices can be prepared in a healthy way. All you need to do is give them 5 minutes in the evening to make the preparations, and the next day, while you drink your coffee, you can roast them. Required products :

  • 1 baguette
  • 8 eggs
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons fresh milk
  • 1/4 tea cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

for sprinkling:

  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/3 tea cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons soft butter
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Method of preparation :

Grease a rectangular pan.

Cut the baguette into slices about 2 inches thick.

Arrange them in the tray, slightly overlapping them.

Beat the milk, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and a pinch of salt

Pour over the breadcrumbs and leave to soak overnight in the refrigerator.

The next day, turn the oven to 175 degrees.

Combine the sprinkling products and spread on the soaked bread.

Bake for 25-35 minutes, until golden brown.

Serve the slices immediately. If desired, pour them with honey or maple syrup, sprinkle with more nuts or dried fruit.
