Necessary products:

  • 500 grams of mushrooms
  • 2 onions
  • 300 ml low-fat cream
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup or tomato paste
  • 1 tsp chili pepper
  • 50 ml of vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

Cut the onion as finely as possible, fry it in hot oil until it turns yellow. Then add the mushrooms to it, mix well, season with salt and pepper. Leave the mushrooms on the stove for 10 minutes: they should separate some of their water, but not fry. Grind the chili pepper together with the seeds and add to the mushrooms. Add the ketchup (or tomato paste) and cream. Mix everything well, when bubbles appear in the mixture, reduce the temperature to a minimum. Bring the sauce to a boil, stirring occasionally. About 4-6 minutes are enough for it to start thickening.

The sauce is ready. It is prepared just before serving. If you put rice or mashed potatoes on top, you will get a great stand-alone dish.

The cold sauce has a different taste and is thicker than the one just removed from the stove.

Enjoy your meal!
