  • 250 grams of sugar (crystal)
  • 3 eggs
  • vanilla extract
  • 280 grams of sour cream
  • 420 grams of wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 100 milliliters of maple syrup

For the glaze:

  • 170 grams of powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup

Method of preparation :

Turn on the oven to preheat to 170 degrees. Spread on a cake pan and sprinkle with flour.

To make the strudel, mix the sugar, flour and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the butter and grind the ingredients with your hands to turn into crumbs. Pour the crushed walnuts on them and stir.

The dough: beat the butter with the sugar until light fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each and scraping the mixture off the sides of the bowl. Add vanilla extract, cream and mix well.

In a large bowl, sift the flour, pour in the baking powder, salt, baking soda and combine the dry combination with the butter. Beat with a mixer on medium speed until a smooth dough.

Sprinkle the bottom of the prepared form with half of the strosel and put half of the dough, repeat the layers.

Bake for 50-60 minutes (until the surface is golden). Check readiness with a toothpick.

While the cake is still warm, pour the maple syrup over it and leave to cool in the mold.

Meanwhile, make the glaze: in a medium bowl, mix the maple syrup and powdered sugar, pour 2 tablespoons of water. A homogeneous liquid mass will be obtained.

Turn the cake over on a wire rack so that the Strozel layer is on top. Put the grid in a pan and pour the cake with the icing. The latter will flow into the vessel, you can use this amount to pour the cake once more. Sprinkle with crushed walnuts on top and wait for the coating to cool slightly. Then transfer the cake to a tray and serve.

Enjoy your meal!
