In the first part of the article on making food coloring at home and we introduced you to the foods that you could use to obtain the basic colors for coloring dishes. Now we will see how the different shades are made.

  • Let's start with orange. You may have guessed that it is best to use carrots here. Grate them in bulk and fry in oil in a ratio of 1: 1. Pre-grease the pan with oil so that the oil does not burn. After 5 minutes, when the carrots are soft, remove to a plate and after cooling, squeeze.

  • Yellow and brown. We said about the yellow in the first part that it is obtained with the help of saffron or lemon peel. We will only add that there is another option - water and sugar. Through this combination we get a brown color for our culinary creations. Mix water and sugar in a ratio of 5: 1 and put the pan on low heat. Let it boil until it gets a dark brown color. Remove from the heat and, stirring constantly, add more water. The ratio should be 5: 2. Strain the solution.
  • An ideal shade of green is made from spinach. The juice of the plant is left to simmer for 30 - 40 minutes.

  • Make a blue color by mixing green, yellow and orange, for which you already know what to get.
