Required products :

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 700 grams of beef, cut into 3-centimeter pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped in bulk
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 200 grams of mushrooms cut in half
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2 bay leaves (dry)
  • 1 teaspoon dry red wine
  • 1/4 tea cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cube beef broth
  • 5 potatoes
  • 2/3 tea cup grated yellow cheese
  • parsley

Method of preparation :

Take a large pan with a fireproof handle and heat olive oil in it. Fry the meat (in several batches) for about 5 minutes until golden on the outside, transfer to a plate.

In the same pan put onions, carrots, celery and mushrooms. Fry the vegetables for about 5 minutes (until soft), stirring occasionally. Season with smoked pepper, garlic and add the bay leaves. After a minute, pour the wine and simmer for 3 minutes. When the liquid is reduced, put the barbecue sauce. Dissolve the broth in 1 teaspoon of water and pour into the pan. Return the meat to the other products, season with salt and pepper and stew for 1 hour under a lid until the beef is completely cooked.

Cut the potatoes into slices about 1 cm thick. For a better look, you can cut the potatoes into a perfect round shape, using a 6 cm cookie cutter. Put them in a suitable dish and heat them in the microwave for about 5 minutes until soft.

Arrange the potatoes on the meat in the pan and sprinkle with yellow cheese. Bake on the top rack of the oven until a golden and crispy pie crust is obtained. When serving, sprinkle with parsley.
