How To Cook Wholemeal Waffles With Strawberries And Ricotta - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Wholemeal waffles with strawberries and ricotta". Delicious recipe.

Healthy breakfast - sandwich with waffles, garnished with honey and fresh delicious ricotta cream with mint and strawberries. Other seasonal fruits, such as blueberries or chopped peaches, would also be a tasty addition. If you do not have prepared or purchased waffles, you can always replace them with wholemeal bread.

Required products :

  • 1/4 cup full-fat ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon fresh mint, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 wholemeal waffles - frozen or homemade (or 2 wholemeal slices)
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup (honey or other sweetener)
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, cut in half

Method of preparation :

Mix the ricotta cheese, mint and vanilla extract in a small bowl.

Toast the two whole-grain waffles (or whole-grain slices) in a toaster, then sprinkle them with 1 teaspoon of maple syrup (or honey). Spread one waffle with the ricotta mixture and garnish with fresh strawberries. Cover with the other waffle so that it becomes a sandwich.

Enjoy!
