Beetroot is a very popular and very affordable root crop. It is often grown in their home gardens in order to provide their family with high-quality vegetables without chemicals.
Sometimes, having collected the entire beet crop, the hostess discovers a certain number of rather small root crops, which it is desirable to immediately put into use, as they quickly lose moisture and presentation. They prepare preparations for the winter: salads, caviar, marinate. It is also beneficial to dry such beets. Dried beetroot retains its taste, rich red color and healing properties for a long time. For drying, choose root vegetables with maroon flesh, sweet and tasty.
Dried beets are very convenient to use on hikes or other field conditions, when the weight of products must be reduced to a minimum. At home, dried beets are soaked and then added to borscht, salads and vinaigrettes. From such beets, excellent kvass is obtained. And children will be able to enjoy sweetish and bright beetroot chips instead of sweets without restrictions all winter long.
