Sea buckthorn is a beautiful and healing plant. The undisputed leader in the healing properties of sea buckthorn are berries, not leaves. Sea buckthorn berries contain almost all vitamins. They are not only healing, but also very tasty.
If you have such an opportunity, then be sure to prepare sea buckthorn berries for the winter. Very often, berries are frozen, juice, jam, marmalade are prepared from them, rubbed with sugar. One of the best ways to harvest sea buckthorn is drying.
To dry the fruits of sea buckthorn, the berries must be collected no earlier than the end of August. The best option is to collect them in September-October until the first frost. The most appropriate is the drying of sea buckthorn cake, and not whole berries. In this way, you can achieve the maximum use of berries - you separate and harvest the juice, and dry the cake and use it in winter to make aromatic tea. The cake dries pretty quickly if you use an electric dryer in your work, so you can dry quite a lot of sea buckthorn in a short time.
