One of the most important rules to follow to normalize body weight is to make it a habit to eat slowly . The need for this is clear - when a person swallows bite after bite, he can not feel satiety. That's why we usually eat until we can't eat more. The results - overeating and gaining extra pounds.
In the age of all kinds of delicacies, semi-finished products and, of course, vanity, we eat quickly and often on foot . And, if in the hours when we are busy, this is justified to some extent, then the rest of the time it is not. We are so used to eating fast that we usually devastate the contents of the plate for 10 minutes. This, not only will not help us lose weight, but also a lot of damage to the gastrointestinal tract. People working in an office also have such habits. Even on weekends, when it is assumed that we can sit quietly and eat, enjoying every bite, we rarely do.
In this way, small amounts of food are taken and the speed of the process itself is reduced.
Do not prepare food in advanceDo not peel before and do not unpack the products. For example, peel each candy just before eating it, the same goes for oranges. This makes the process slower, which allows you to feel the satiety.
Cut the hard dishes on a plateDo not pre-cut them into chunks. If you do it just before eating, you will eat more slowly. Also, cut into small pieces, this will take more time.
Use Chinese chopsticksThey are a great way to slow down the speed of eating, because even if you want, you can not take large amounts of food, and it is time consuming if you are not used to handling the sticks.
Change the hand with which you normally hold the utensilsIf you use your right hand to eat, replace it with your left and vice versa. Surely things will happen more slowly
Eat in front of a mirrorScientists have found that this way a person eats more slowly. The fact is explained by the fact that we see ourselves as we look from the side, for example, in a restaurant, and then we try to sit beautifully, to be elegant and therefore not in a hurry.
Smell the dishesAnother interesting experiment. It turns out that smelling each bite before putting it in your mouth slows down the process of ingestion and nutrition in general, as well as the accepted amount of goodies.
Eat quietlyThe speed of feeding is also affected by the noise around us. Therefore, it is recommended to eat in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
In other words: by eating slowly, we get full faster .
If you have your own options to help deal (at least to some extent) with your bad habit of eating at high speed, we will be happy to share them with you.
