Powdered sugar has a wide range of uses in cooking. Without it, you cannot make a classic charlotte with apples, you cannot decorate many other confectionery products, and without powdered sugar you will also not be able to make a smooth and shiny icing for Easter cakes. Of course, you can go to the store and buy powder there. But a ready-made store product, in addition to a rather impressive price, may have some drawbacks - being stale or stored incorrectly. In such cases, the product will have foreign odors and lumps.
But making icing sugar at home is not so difficult. It is usually customary to do it in a coffee grinder, but even if this gadget is not in the kitchen, you can do without a coffee grinder. For this you need a blender. Making powdered sugar in a blender is even easier than in a coffee grinder.
The simplicity and speed of the process will allow you to make powder as needed, which will always use a fresh product made at home.
So, we offer you detailed step-by-step instructions on how to properly make powdered sugar at home using a coffee grinder or blender.
Recipes with sugar
Step 1
To make powdered sugar at home, we need sugar, a strainer with small holes, a jar with a lid.
Step 2
Place sugar in portions in a coffee grinder.
Step 3
Grind sugar into powder. It will take you approximately 1 minute to grind one portion.
Step 4
To make the powder homogeneous and get rid of unbroken crystals, you need to sift it through a fine sieve.
Step 5
Place the powder in a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Use as needed.
Step 1
For work, we need sugar, a blender, cling film.
Step 2
Pour a small amount of sugar on top of the blender.
Step 3
Close the hole with cling film folded in several layers. Stretch the film well so that the blender knives cannot catch it. Fix the film (you can use your hand or with an elastic band).
Step 4
Turn on the blender, shaking off the sugar inside a little. Sugar turns into powder in 1-2 minutes. At the same time, keep the blender with sugar up, as shown in the photo.
Step 5
Powdered sugar is ready to go.
Step 1
To prepare powder without a blender and coffee grinder, you will need a stone mortar and sugar.
Step 2
Pour 2-3 teaspoons of sugar into a mortar. With strong circular motions, begin to crush the sugar.
Step 3
We continue to grind the sugar in a circular motion until powdered sugar is obtained.
Step 4
