Ramson, wild garlic, bear's onion - these are all names of one plant. Ramson appears in early spring and therefore is the first vitamin wild plant that helps to enrich our body with vitamins. Vitamin C contained in the plant strengthens the immune system, and phytocides repel spring colds. In addition, wild garlic contains essential oils, carotene, carbohydrates, proteins, organic acids, fiber and many vitamins.
Ramson is widespread in Europe, and in the mountains of Asia, and in the Far East, so it is very widely used for cooking various dishes in many countries.
Ramson is the first spring vitamins, so it is better to use it fresh, but wild garlic is also dried, salted, pickled. Then they are used for filling pies, added to borscht, soups, meat and fish dishes, salads and snacks are prepared.
Pickled wild garlic is a great snack, and it is very easy to prepare it for the winter. For pickling, choose very young shoots. Do not forget to soak the greens for 2-3 hours in cold water before pickling in order to remove the characteristic bitterness and pungent odor from it.
Recipes with wild garlic ingredient
Step 1
For work, we need wild garlic - 500 g, water - 1 liter, sugar - 2 tbsp. l., salt - 1.5 tbsp. l., vinegar 9% - 100 ml, a jar with a lid, a saucepan.
Step 2
Sort the wild garlic, rinse well and soak in cold water for 2-3 hours.
Step 3
Rinse the jar well with soda and sterilize. Put the wild garlic standing in the prepared jar.
Step 4
For the marinade, combine water, salt and sugar. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add vinegar.
Step 5
Pour prepared wild garlic with hot marinade, roll up the jar and leave upside down until completely cooled. Send to the cellar for storage.
