Even an experienced cook can sometimes make mistakes in the process of cooking . But will this always lead to the fact that the dish will go to the trash and all the expenses (time, effort, money, in the end) will go to waste? Very often, spoiled food ( oversalted , burnt, overdried, etc.) can be saved . It is enough to know a few simple and easy tips.

If the dish is oversalted

If you salted the first dish , do not rush to add water. It will make soup, broth or borscht cloudy and unattractive. You can add some potatoes, any vegetables, noodles or some cereal, for example, rice, to the oversalted soup, which will absorb excess salt . If the soup is already thick, put some rice or potatoes in it in a gauze bag, and when the salt becomes less, take it away. A pinch of sugar will help correct oversalted broth and keep it transparent. Also, it is always an effective way to cook an additional portion of soup and combine it with a salted dish .

Oversalted meat or fish can be saved with sour cream or tomato sauce, which will absorb a small amount of salt. You can also prepare a suitable side dish, which, in combination with a salted product, will turn out moderately salty. Another effective way to save meat or fish is to use them as a filling. Let's say for a pie.

If you salted the minced meat for cutlets, add raw potatoes, carrots or zucchini. Thus, you will not only save the meatballs from excess salt, but also make them more tender.

Salted vegetables can also be used as a filling for a roll or pie. You can correct an oversalted dish by adding a certain amount of fresh vegetables to them, or by stewing them in sour cream, cream, or flour-based sauce. Eggs can be added to salted mashed potatoes, and fresh tomatoes can be added to stew.

To fix oversalted mushrooms, soak them in water with a few drops of lemon juice, then most of the salt will be neutralized. In addition. You can add a little sour cream, flour, potato bread or rice to the mushrooms. You should not add fresh mushrooms, because they will not absorb excess salt and the dish will turn out to be "motley".

And, by the way, an always effective and universal way to save any oversalted dish is to increase its volume with the help of an additional portion or additional products.

If the food is burnt

If meat Vegetables or fish are slightly burnt, but not yet cooked, then it is necessary to remove the  burnt crust, transfer the product to another dish or wash the one in which the dish was cooked and finish cooking.

Burnt pastries can be decorated with cream, grated chocolate, fruits or nuts (in general, whatever your imagination can do), of course, having previously cut off the burnt areas.

If the casserole is burnt - also, cut off the burnt layer, sprinkle the cut with sugar and bake it with some hot metal object (it can be a spatula or a knife), so the sugar will caramelize and take on a golden color. And finally, put the casserole in the oven for another 2-3 minutes.

If the porridge is burnt , it is recommended to put the pan in cold water (which will cause the burnt layer to stick to the bottom). After that, remove the top layer of porridge (the one that is not burnt ), transfer it to a clean dish and cook until fully cooked, adding butter or boiled milk, salt, and sugar, which will help to completely neutralize the burnt smell and taste.

If, during the boiling process, your milk has burned, it is necessary to pour it into a clean dish, passing it through several layers of cheesecloth, washing it with hot water between procedures.

If the dish is too dry

If the meat or fish has lost its juiciness during the cooking process, you can correct the dish by stewing it in creamy, sour cream or tomato sauces. They will help to soften dried products.

Overdried pastries can be wrapped for a few minutes in a damp towel or spread with syrup or cream.

If the dish is very thick

If the first dish is too thick, you can add broth or tomato juice to it, bring to a boil and turn off.

A very thick second course can be corrected with any sauce, milk or broth.

If the dish is overcooked

It is not necessary to put overcooked food in the trash . Example. You can add minced meat, meat broth and some spices to overcooked vegetables - and you will get a great taste. Also. You can grind them in a blender and prepare vegetable puree or cream soup.

As for pasta that has boiled and stuck together, the best option in this case is to rinse it with cold water and make a fragrant casserole.

And if you have overcooked the rice, wash it and prepare balls, patties or zrazy.

If the dish is very spicy

To give the peppered soup a rich and appetizing taste, use fresh tomatoes (you can also puree them and add them to the soup).

If you put pepper in meat or fish, crushed tomatoes will also save you, because they have the ability to absorb excess spiciness.
