In this article, learn more about How To Save On Food. Have you ever calculated the total amount spent on groceries?.

Have you ever calculated the total amount spent on groceries? If yes, then immediately take away half of this amount and throw it in the trash, because this is what many do when buying unnecessary products or overpaying for beautiful packaging. If you think about it, we spend a lot of money on food, and the question arises of how to save a hard-earned penny, while not denying ourselves any pleasures. We tell you how to save money on food.

1. Make a shopping list.

The topic of the shopping list has been raised more than once. By making and sticking to a plan, you will not only save money, but you will also avoid buying unnecessary products that you might not even eat.

2. Compare prices in stores.

Pay attention to prices, compare them with the stores you go to. It is not necessary to stock up on groceries in one supermarket, although this is convenient. Walk a couple of blocks, get some air, but definitely buy a product cheaper, and possibly better quality.

3. Attend fairs.

Usually, once a season, agricultural societies organize fairs where they sell animal products, vegetables, fruits, eggs. Their products are cheaper, and no one forbids trying and bargaining.

4. Don't make impulse purchases.

Skip the heavily discounted products you rarely use. It's like with a smaller dress: I will wear it when I lose weight! You do not need it, as well as products from which you usually do not cook.

5. Use discount cards.

Of course, you will have to pay for many cards in stores, but this is only once, and you will get quite more from this if you visit this supermarket often. Try not to forget to carry it with you, because even if little by little, you will accumulate interest, and in some stores the discount is generally given only with the use of a card.

6. Buy some items in bulk.

We use cereals, sugar, flour all the time. Just think how much money you are overpaying if you use refined sugar or packaged flour/cereals. It is better to stock up in bulk, it is much cheaper.

7. Don't overpay for pretty packaging.

Of course, advertisers and packaging designers know what they are doing. People do not pay attention to faded and dull packaging, everyone throws their eyes at the bright wrapper, for which, moreover, they overpay. Throw away the packaging anyway, better pay attention to the composition.

8. Avoid processed foods.

Semi-finished products are very expensive, and usually for the money spent you would cook 5 or even 10 times more servings. Stop being lazy, once a week take time to make dumplings, meatballs, dumplings, freeze. So you will not only save money, but you will always have quality products at hand.

9. Avoid bottled water.

Residents of big cities suffer from low-quality water and simply cannot cook from such a bad liquid. Buying bottled water every month, you lose 1/3 of your budget. It is better not to regret and buy a water filter once, but it will always be at hand.

10. Make blanks.

Many people do not like to roll up jars, freeze mushrooms, vegetables, herbs, but this is really beneficial. 1 small jar of cucumbers costs around 100-150 rubles. Almost the same, or even less at cost, your 3-liter jar, which you prepared yourself, will cost. What can we say about fruits and vegetables, because even a billionaire can go broke on them out of season. So roll up your sleeves and then prepare the jars.
